When the whole country is facing the deadly coronavirus , the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections are going to take place in the midst of the pandemic. With many prevailing social issues and increase in vote bank the Bihar elections are becoming interesting day by day. When are the Elections going to take place?

The Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections will take place between 28 October, 2020- 7 November, 2020.The elections will be held in three phases for 243 seats. The first phase will take place on 28 October 2020 for 71 seats, Second phase for 94 seats on 3 November 2020 and the Third phase for 78 seats on 7 November 2020.


Schedule for Bihar Elections 2020

The Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2020 will be held in three phases.

Phase I

The elections in phase 1 will take place on 28 October 2020 for 71 seats in the districts of Dinara, Nokha, Dehri, Karakat, Arwal, Kurtha, etc. The final counting of votes will be done on 10 November 2020.

Phase II  

The elections of phase 2 will take place on 3 November 2020 for 94 seats in the districts of Bakhri, Alauli, Khagaria, Gopalpur, Asthawan, Hilsa, etc. The final counting will take place on 10 November 2020.

Phase III

The elections of phase 3 will take place on 7 November 2020 for the remaining 78 seats in the districts of Mahishi, Jale, Mahua, Muzaffarpur, Morwa, etc. The final counting of votes will be done on 10 November 2020.

RJD

Rashtriya Janta Dal is based in the state of Bihar. It was founded by Lalu Prasad Yadav in 1997. The base of RJD is based on backward classes and is known for its cause of lower-caste politics.

JD(U)

Janata Dal (United) is centre-left political party based mainly in eastern and north-eastern India. JD(u) is presently a part of the government in Bihar. It was founded in 30 October 2003.

BJP

Bhartiya Janata Party is one of the major and most powerful political party of India along with the Indian National Congress. BJP is the ruling party of India since 2014. Its also the largest political party of the country.

Alliance: NDA(National Democratic Alliance)


INC

Indian National Congress is also one of the major and most political party of India. The INC has its widespread political roots in the country. INC played a vital role in the independence of the country.

Why is Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections more interesting this year? 

The Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2020 are more interesting this year because the COVID-19 pandemic. How? Due to the lockdown, a major number of laborers from Bihar returned to their villages which eventually leads to an increase in the vote bank compared to previous years elections. The increase in the vote bank makes the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2020 more interesting this year.

As the admission season has   proliferated across the nation, major number of colleges have started releasing their cut off marks.  The admissions in Delhi University has once again touched the 100 per cent cut off marks for the undergraduate courses.   Let us now understand " what is a cut off?" and "I s 100% cut off justifiable?".
